“Officer, you are not taking this seriously,” said the sommelier.
Jamie tried to keep his temper, he was still in hot water from the
last time he called one of these pompous stuffed shirts, a horse’s
ass, and this one could be the pride of the herd.

“Excuse me, but by your own admission, there is only one door in or
out of here and you have the only key, correct?” Jamie said through
clenched teeth. “And only the wine is missing, the bottles are still
here, correct?” Jamie was now being condescending.

“You ignorant plebeian, this wine would have sold at auction for
$100,000.00 a bottle.”

Jamie rolled his eyes, and stated the obvious. “It’s not likely we
will be able to recover your stolen merchandise, Mr. Kane, “

Another officer, started to giggle and Jamie shot him a cold stare.

Just then, as the men looked on in fascination, two cats came into
the room through the air vent. One jumped up on to the second shelf,
and rolled one of the bottles back and forth, until enough air built
up in the bottle that the cork popped. The liquid gold began to run
from the bottle, as the cat on the floor began to drink, the other
soon joined him in his libations.

Jamie and the other officer could no longer contain their laughter,
as they watched Mr. Kane try with no success to chase the cats away
from their ill-gotten booty.
