Cat Wilson Mysteries - Postcard Stories

“Clyde! What’s that in the gator pen?”

“I don’t know, what does it look like?”

“It looks like a human arm.”

“Well, I didn’t put it there.”

“I didn’t say you did, but that’s not something you see every day.
Better call the Sheriff.”

Clyde started to walk over towards the barn to call Sheriff Neely
when Barney called him back.

“Barney, why’d you call me back?”

“Clyde, tell the Sheriff we’ll be a filling for the reward money.”

“What reward money?”

“Don’t you remember a while back the Sheriff brought those posters
around with a picture of that escaped convict, said he was armed and
dangerous?”

“Yeah, but how’d you know that arm belongs to that convict feller?”

“Cause it said he had a tattoo on his left forearm, a big old bear
with his teeth a showing. Well that’s his left forearm, and that’s the
tattoo?”

“Well don’t that beat all, the gators done took a second job.”

“A second job, what are you yammering about?”

“Don’t that make them Bounty Hunters?”
